The Maroon Won a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Engulfed: St. John's Fight Podcast

The Maroon recently won a national Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital New Association. This award is one of the highest Journalism honors, and this is the first time Loyola University New Orleans students have earned this distinguished recognition.

The Excellence in Podcasts award recognizes The Maroon’s Engulfed: St. John’s Fight podcast. The podcast series focuses on the environmental challenges of Southeast Louisiana residents due to climate change, air pollution, and oil spills. Journalism student and podcast narrator Domonique Tolliver joined the Fox 8 Morning Show to speak about the podcast and the award. Rae Walberg ‘23 and students Domonique Tolliver and Brendan Heffernan will be recognized at the Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala on October 9, 2023.
